I was born in Modesto, CA and lived there till I was 3, then I moved to the nearby mountains near Lake Tahoe to a small town called Mountain Ranch where I lived till I was 18 and joined the Air Force. Then after basic and tech school I was stationed at Holloman AFB, NM where I currently live. I have a wonderful wife and great 10mo old son. We also have one little dog. In the military I'm a fuels specialist, currently assigned to our facilities section. My racing history mostly consists of snowboard racing, go-kart racing at amusement parks, and extensive racing on the streets. I always love racing, any type of automotive racing I watch it. So it should be no surprise I'm a big nascar fan. For fun I like to go snowboarding and play video games, as well as attend/enter car shows, and watch racing of course.
- How long have you been a member of SCCA?
- I have been a member for 13 months.
- What was your first car?
- My first that I learned to drive was my parent 89 Dodge Caravan which surprisingly can get up to 125 with a slight downhill grade. Then I took over my moms 85 S-10 Blazer which I still have, but my first vehicle that I bought and had on my own is my Grand Am GT which I currently race
- What was/is your favorite car?
- My favorite car?..there's a lot to choose from. Well for street tuning car I would have to say 2000 Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II, for high class power and style I would say the 2002 Dodge Viper R/T 10 red with tan interior
- What is your favorite racing memory?
- Well my favorite racing memory is hard to say. Between racing I did before autocross and autocross, I just can't decide.
- Who is the racer you admire or respect the most?
- Professionally it's a tie between Jeff Gordon and his teammate Jimmie Johnson. Locally in autocross I would say Luis Moreno with his CRX.
- How do you rank the following (driver, car, car preparation)?
- I would have to say driver first because I have seen multiple drivers in the same car on the same day and one driver have times 2-5 seconds faster than the other. Second would have to be preparation followed by your car. I say this because you can have 2 of the same car in the same class, but one could be faster that the other depending on how you prepare it. Then your choice of car is a matter of personal preference.
- What makes you successful?
- I'm successful because of the support I receive from my family and friends.
