Minutes of the March 2, 2009 Members Meeting

The meeting began at 7:08 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009
In attendance:
Daniel Acevedo, John Basler, Deborah Basler, Mark Manzares, Clovis Green, Lester Townsend, Dave Lehrschall, Jose Gerardo, Duncan del Toro, Rafael Segovia, Kevin Parra, Danny Castillo, Fred Hernandez
Secretary’s Report
-Minutes of the February meeting were presented and approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
-Deborah Basler reported that we had a balance of $2507.23 as of 03/01/09.
Membership Chairman’s Report:
-97 members currently with 22 expired.
Timing and Scoring
-Training for the timing system has been completed.
Solo Chairman’s Report:
-Event medallions and cones need to be ordered. Trailer maintenance is also needed.
-First couple of events should start later due to the time change.
-We no longer have a key to the restroom and Cohen will not give us one.
-Dave Lehrschall will be the event chair for the March 22nd event and John Basler will be the event chair for the March 8th event.
Drift Racing Report:
-First event had a huge turnout in racers and spectators.
-Spectator control needs to be a priority for safety.
-Next event to be held sometime in May.
-New rules and safety procedures to be drawn up and approved by the next meeting.
Club Racing Chairman’s Report:
-John Basler and Richard Dziak will participate in the March 20th event at PIR.
Rally Report:
-April 12th will be the “Funkhana” or fun day at Cohen Stadium. Event will start at 10:00 am. We need to heavily promote this event by any means possible. Entry fee is tentatively set at $10.00.
-Cones and loaner helmets need to be available for this event.
-2 other rallies are written and in the box (70 mile Monte Carlo and 60 mile TSD). A 200 mile 2 day event is mapped out for later this year.
Old Business
-New website is almost complete and planning to go live within 2 weeks.
-Looking at possibly accepting payment for the event via the website.
New Business
-Looking at possibly getting Tirerack.com links on the site to create revenue for the club.
