Minutes of the October 6, 2008 Members Meeting

The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008In attendance:

Secretary’s Report
Minutes of the September meeting were presented and approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Don Loomis reported that we had a balance of $1973.59 as of 09/30/2008
Membership Chairman’s Report:
- We have 98 paid members, 55 of which have been active within the last 10 months. 46 members estimated to return.
- 11 members are out of towners who have paid memberships but have not participated.
- Solo Shootout October 25th and 26th will count as two separate events.
- The November 2nd championship event has been cancelled due to the proximity of the solo shootout.
- The members in the second run group of the October 5th event will be refunded a partial amount of the entry fee to be applied to the October solo shootout.
Solo Chairman’s Report:
- The October solo shootout (25th and 26th) will be $50 for both days and include a meal. The club will pick up the cost of the meal.
- 12 events scheduled for next year with a minimum of 7 events needed to qualify. 9 events will count for point drops.
- Fun runs will return next year as long as there are enough people to participate and safely work the course.
- The start time for the Saturday October 25th event will be at 11:00 am. 4 runs will count and funs runs will be available at the end of both run groups. The start time for Sunday October 26th is 9:00 am.
Club Racing Chairman’s Report:
- Jose Gerardo qualified 6th in the regional's.
- October 11th is the next regional held in Arizona
- November 8th at Firebird
Rally Report:
- No rallies scheduled but 2 are in the box ready to run. This will happen once there is a reasonable expectation of participants.
- Some members feel that the fun is gone possibly due to the complex nature of the rally.
- Suggested to make an event that does not count for points but just for fun.
- No Old Business.
- Cars under the stars event is set for Saturday October 11th. Dave Lehrschall and John Basler will participate in the event.
- Setup is at 10:30 and the event will be open to the public from 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
- If anyone can come by to help with the booth, all help would be appreciated.
