PAN AMERICAN REGION SCCA

REGIONAL EXECUTIVE

 REPORT

Hello fellow PAR Members,

This RE report might be a bit late, but better late than never!

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has volunteered, stepped up, and taken on a duty to help our small SCCA club reach the next level.  We have some great people that have spent countless man hours behind the scenes ( working on timing and scoring issues, website updates, planning and organizational chores, equipment management, setting up courses, ordering supplies etc., etc.) in order that we may all partake of fun, safe autocross events and rallies.  Without the help and dedication of these special individuals we would not and could not put on these events for your enjoyment. I want recognize the following people for their thankless efforts: Dave Lerschall, John Basler, Mike Downey, Don Loomis, Phil Becker, Frank Schuster, Jesse Moya, Karl Bush, W.C. Green, Bob Wilkinson, Bud Jefferies, Danny Castillo (if I have left anyone out, please accept my apologies).  The next time that you see any of these hard-working individuals, please take the time to say "Thank You" it would mean so much to them for all their hard work and dedication.

Speaking of rallies, Clovis (our PAR Rally Director) is planning along with some PAR board members to stage a TSD Rally on Sunday July 8th.  This will be a charitiable event along with possible some local radio and TV personalities participating.  The event course is being organized and designed by Clovis Green, but it will take more than one person to make it happen!  I haven't ever participated in a rally before, but I'm certainly going to change that by entering a vehicle in this one.  It looks like a lot of fun, and I would encourage each and everyone one of you to come out and support this event.  Who knows, you may like it!!!

That's the Carrera Panamericana Rally on Sunday July 8th... Please stay tuned for further information and details on the PAR website.

I would like to report that the 2007 MSD Ignition Championship Solo Series has been a great success up to now.  The 2007 FAST FIVE Runoffs championship event was the largest subscribed event in it's fifteen year history!  Congratulations to Paul Brown, our 2007 FAST FIVE Champion and to all those who participated far and wide.

Let's not forget our PAR Club Racing members and for all their hard work and accomplishments. Congratulations go out to Stan Czacki, Jeff Kelley, Jose Gerardo, Gustavo Ganem, Hector Maldonado, Craig Wallen and Richard Dizak... these are our hardcore PAR road race drivers that have at one time or another made that effort to find glory; and there are some that are still traveling all over the US in the their quest for maintaining their National Licenses, acquiring regional class points, titles and chasing that elusive National Crown!

While we are on the subject of Club Racing, we (the board members) had decided based on Richard Dziak's suggestion of a few months ago to help fund the PAR Road Racing Endowment Fund by donating $500 of the club's treasury to support this noble endeavor for our local club racers.  For more more details and information concerning this endowment fund and how you may qualify for these funds, please refer to our past PAR Board Meeting Minutes from earlier this year.  The PAR BMM (Board Meeting Minutes) are not currently available on our website, but they will be posted very soon.

I would like to conclude this report with a "Big Thank You" to all of you whose support at the events (before, during, and after), late night hours spent at home, and even some time spent at work has not gone unnoticed.  Thank you for making our PAR SCCA racing program fun and exciting!

Here's hoping that all your racing dreams will come true!

Sincerely,

Luis Moreno
