Minutes of the December 3, 2007 Meeting

The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007

In attendance: Don Loomis, Luis Moreno, Karl Busch, Dave Lehrschall, Clovis Green, John Basler, Frank Schuster, Chris Guile & Lester Townsend

Secretary’s Report

            Minutes of the Nov meeting were presented, corrected and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Don Loomis reported that we had a balance of $3,549.03 as of Nov 30th.

            All necessary bank signatories are in order now that Mike is gone.

 

Membership Chairman’s Report:

There is a problem retrieving the reports from the national site – will report later.

 

Timing and Scoring

            No new information to report

           

 Solo Chairman’s Report:

            We need to establish annual worker assignments for 2008

                        Chief of Workers

                        Chief of Timing & Scoring

                        Equipment & Supply manager

                        Chief of Tech

                        Registrar

                        Chief of Safety Stewards & Stewards

                        Grid Master

                        Waivers

 

Luis is meeting the Cohen people tomorrow– will book about the same # of events

 

JANUARY 19 will be the Awards Banquet for Solo – site to be determined

            Dave will check with Fuddruckers and Great American.

 

Club Racing Chairman’s Report:

Chairman absent - John reported that they had great fun 11/17/& 20 at Arroyo Seco

            Next event in Jan in Arizona

 

Rally Report:

Clovis expressed disappointment for the year but was assured by everyone that the program is making progress and thanked him for a good job as the club attempts to get Rallying back on its feet. He will set Rally dates (8 hopefully) once the Solo schedule is known for 2008.

 

 

 

Fog Lamp Editor Report

            No report – Chris will take a stab at doing the Fog Lamp.

 

Additional Items

RMD asked if we would like to host the Chupa road race – we voted no with regret that we don’t have the financial resources to fund the upfront $5000 or the workers to man the event.

 

Due to meager finances, we will hold off ordering Solo cones until next year.

 

Banquet charge will be $10 per person with the balance to be covered by the club.

 

We voted to charge $25 for SCCA members & $35 for nonmembers per Solo entry in 2008 due to the new national SCCA office rule regarding a required temporary membership fee for all Solo participants.

 

Safety Stewards

 

We desperately need Safety Stewards for 2008.  We will reimburse 3 people $150 each for attending the class in Denver on Jan 5th. Frank Schuster and Dave Lehrshal are committed to go – one more person is needed. SW Air fares are cheap to Denver.

 

Karl announced that he will not be racing next year due to personal priorities – therefore we need new Secretary & Membership Chairmen

 

The Board whole heartedly endorsed Jeff Kelley’s nomination of Jose Gerardo for RMD National Driver of the Year  Award!
