Meeting Minutes of April 9, 2007

The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. on Monday , April 7, 2007

In attendance:Don Loomis, Luis Moreno, John Basler, Phil Becker, Karl Busch,  Dave Lehrschall, Mike Downey, Frank Schuster, Clovis Green.

 

Secretary’s Report

March 2007 minutes were distributed.  It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Don Loomis reported that we had a balance of $3419.99 as of March 31, 2007  

 

Membership Chairman’s Report:

Karl Busch reported 104 official members.  Since last month we have had 5 expirations and 6 new additions.

 

Timing and Scoring

Dave Lehrshall reported 20 pre-registrations so far for the Fast Five.  The revamped registration is working well.  The timing display is still a work in progress.

Solo Chairman’s Report:

1. Volunteers needed to clean up Cohen just prior to the Fast Five.

2. Fast Five changes for 2007

            A. 6 runs per vehicle on SAT only with only the first 4 counting

            B. 4 runs only on SUN then the aggregate top 10 PAX cars selected

            C. Top Ten Elimination round will then determine the Fast Five Runoffs

            D. The Fast Five qualifiers will compete for the coveted crown.

3. Timing and Scoring

            A. Urgently needs more volunteers – Frank volunteered

            B. Multi-Day event scoring was discussed

4. Business Cards – we need cards to hand out to potential new members

5. Fast Five

            A. “T” shirts – CANCELED: too costly for the small pre-registration                 

            B. Lunch is $299 for 60 and $499 for 100, therefore we will go with 60             based on the registration level.

            C. Awards will be $700-$800

 

Club Racing Chairman’s Report:

No report

.

 

Rally Report:

Correction to annual regional rally – possible dates 3/25, 4/15 not 4/18, 7/8, 7/22, 9/16, or 11/11.  Clovis reported a dismal and exasperating turnout of only two people for the Mar 25th   rally   Two teams coming from Tucson for this Sunday’s rally.  No rallies until July.  Suggestion: get a charity event w/ TV station personalities to raise awareness this July 15th  - Luis will contact stations.

New Business:

 

1. Clovis asked and was formally granted a special consideration for those unable to walk the SOLO course.  Those unable to walk it will be driven through by a non- participating person.

 

2. Clovis noted that he is a member of the group of SCCA members grading the website of each club across the country.  We are lacking 2 things: An RE’s report and a monthly minutes report.

 

3. Our website needs a profile update.
